Hi and welcome!  I’m Alison and I am the recipe developer, photographer, and food writer for the Lemon Press. Here I aim to create a fun, friendly place for readers to discover passion in their kitchen. You’ll find that my recipes are from scratch, yet approachable. Every recipe that gets published is one that has been prepared, tweaked, and tested by me. Just like many inspiring chefs, I am teaching myself to cook, one recipe at a time. You are encouraged to learn along with me!


I am from Illinois and currently live in beautiful Bainbridge Island, Washington with my husband and #1 taste-tester Adam. We have a tiny Yorkie named Penny, who loves laps and cleaning the crumbs. You can see what we’re up to on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter.


A lot of my food is inspired from my Grandmother’s cooking. She created a cookbook, “All’s Well That Ends Well,” to collect and share her favorite gourmet recipes. I’ve enjoyed creating my own adaptations of her work. You’ll notice that the Lemon Press is filled with step by step photos to make things clear as day.  I started this space for me, to document my favorite recipes and share them with friends, family, and you!  


Cooking can be fun and even relaxing if you let it. Try it barefoot with a glass of wine and see what happens. Perhaps you’ll see something that sounds good for tonight’s dinner, or this weekend’s splurge. Let me know if you try something out, I’d love to hear from you!
