It’s not officially fall without a warm slice of applesauce nut bread. Love using low fat replacements like egg whites, unsweetened applesauce, and skim milk. Serve with a light cream cheese spread for an extra treat.
Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with non sick cooking spray.
Combine applesauce, sugar, oil, egg whites and skim milk in large electric mixing bowl. Make sure to use unsweetened applesauce. Mix thoroughly.
Add in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix until combined. Stir in chopped walnuts.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 60 minutes, until golden brown around the edges. Place pan on cooling rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and let sit until cooled.
